Your information, your call.
Effective June 10, 2026
What we collect
- Your email address if you sign up to be notified about our launch.
- Anonymized analytics (page views, referrers) if we enable analytics on this site.
- Account data (name, profile, RSVPs, payment metadata) when the Whereabouts platform is live and you create an account.
- Your phone number when you provide it to receive text messages about an event or to get one-time login and verification codes.
Why we collect it
- To notify you when the Whereabouts platform launches.
- To send you occasional product updates — you can unsubscribe at any time.
- To run the product once it's live (account, payments, communications).
- To send transactional text messages — RSVP confirmations, event reminders, day-of logistics — and one-time login or verification codes, to the number you provide.
Text messaging (SMS)
- Consent. You opt in to receive text messages when you provide your phone number and agree to receive texts — for example, when you RSVP to an event or sign in. Our messages are transactional only (event notifications and login codes); we do not send marketing or promotional texts.
- Opting out. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts at any time. Reply HELP for help, or email privacy@whereabouts.us.
- Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies.
- We do not share your mobile information or SMS opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We share it only with our messaging provider (Twilio) as needed to deliver the texts you've asked for.
Who has it
- We store your email with our email provider (Resend), your phone number and messages with our SMS provider (Twilio), and your data in our database (Supabase).
- We do not sell or rent your information.
- We may share data with service providers we use to operate Whereabouts (e.g., Stripe for payments) — limited to what's strictly necessary.
Your rights
- Email privacy@whereabouts.us to access, correct, or delete your data.
- Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link.
- Reply STOP to any text message to opt out of SMS.
- You can opt out of analytics by using a tracker-blocker — we won't hold it against you.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies needed for the site to function, plus anonymized analytics if enabled. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
